This policy explains how englishtocantonese.com handles information when you use the English to Cantonese translator.
Translation text
English text you submit is sent to Kie.ai, which provides access to Google Gemini, to produce a Cantonese translation. Cantonese text submitted for translation into English is sent to Microsoft Azure Translator. The site does not require an account and does not intentionally save submitted translation text in an application database. These providers may process and retain submitted content and technical logs under their respective service terms and privacy policies.
Jyutping and audio
Jyutping is generated by the site after translation. When you press an audio button, the Cantonese text is sent through our server to Microsoft Azure Speech to generate pronunciation audio. Microsoft processes this text under its service terms and privacy policy. A small number of generated audio clips are kept temporarily in page memory for repeat playback and released when you leave the page; the site does not save these clips in an application database.
Technical information
Hosting and security providers may process standard request information such as IP address, browser type, timestamps, and error or security events to operate and protect the service. The site currently has no user accounts and does not use submitted text to build a personal profile.
External services
The service depends on Cloudflare for delivery, Kie.ai and its Google Gemini model service for English-to-Cantonese translation, Microsoft Azure Translator for Cantonese-to-English translation, and Microsoft Azure Speech for pronunciation audio. Their handling of data is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies.
